Libraries all over the globe are facing tremendous changes on the service front. The pandemic and post-pandemic situation during the last 2 years expected the delivery of information service entirely through remote access and thus enforcing the library professionals in the world to initiate a variety of online information services to remain highly usable.
To remain more effective and sustainable, the need is to be relevant with the quality inputs. Thus, there is a need to improve continuously for providing more effective library services to reach even an unreached section of the users through the virtual model.
The need of the time is now for us to gear up to face the service challenges by entrusting on the effective service delivery considering the everchanging scenario of users’ expectations by reworking and polishing the techniques and enhancing new ones to become powerful resources for our parent organizations......MES IMCC announces an International Virtual Developmental Program for the Librarians (from 22nd March to 26th March 2022). The program is based on conducting value-based sessions on the delivery of quality services to match the users' expectations in the current scenario.

IMCC is a premier Management Institute , recognized by Savitribai Phule Pune University , Pune , India & Approved by AICTE , India to conduct MBA & MCA programs accredited by NBA New Delhi, India. IMCC also conducts University affiliated PGDBM & DTL programs. IMCC is recognized Ph.D. Research Center under the Faculty of Management, Savitribai Phule Pune University. IMCC has 34 years standing & it is well-known for conducive educational atmosphere.
About MES IMCC Library and Information Resource Centre
MES IMCC’s library and information resource center is one of the best libraries among the Pune regional Academic Institutions. The Library of MES IMCC, Pune was established in the year 1983. The period from 1996 and onward can be considered as the metamorphosis period for the IMCC Library. The library has focused on the embedded librarianship model and disseminating knowledge by providing customized library service packages, especially to the faculty members and research scholars the continuous development principle. The library benchmarking technique is utilized since 1996 and onwards for effective information delivery to the students and academic fraternity. The library is enriched with printed and non-print collections focused on Management and Computer Science.
The library is providing easy access to e-documents through the library's Institutional Web page Library – MES Institute of Management & Career Courses (IMCC), Pune (mespune.in) and the Digital Institutional Repository created by using d-space; and also provides access to online databases such as ASPP (IEEE) and also the INFLIBNET’s N-List and the ProQuest Management Collection database. The library is computerized using Koha open library software (Koha online catalog (informindia.co.in) for automating the functions and services. The library uses auto transaction mode for the Library Documents Transaction purpose through the effective use of bar-coded collection and in-house generated ID cards & Borrowers’ Tickets. The library is also focused on the use of social networking aspects such as blogs and what’s app medium for creating effective communication with the users.
MES IMCC’s IGNOU Study Centre 16142 & YCMOU SC
IMCC believes on education to all and also on providing education through distance learning mode. IMCC has a regular study center of IGNOU (SC 16142) approved by IGNOU New Delhi in 2014. The entire library team is active in taking lead towards managing the entire IGNOU study center. At present the center runs 10 academic programs for 1209 learners including MBA, BCA, BLIS, MLIS, BTS, MTTM CTS CLIS CBS and CNM . IMCC also has YCMOU SC on campus the center runs BCA, BLib I Sc, and M.Lib.I.Sc. on campus.
MES’s LIS Autonomous Programs
The MES has launched prestigious One Year Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Library Management, Automation and Networking (PGDLIMAN) focused on effective utilization of advanced technology in LIS Field. The professional colleagues in the library science field are registering for this programme. Institution also conducts SET NET Training program for LIS professionals twice in a year to provide special guidance to the LIS professionals in the State. The program has become very successful and popular as candidates are not only registering from Pune but also from the varied places of Maharashtra. As on today, total 28 candidates from the 7 batches (205 candidates) of the programme qualified the SET/NET examinations.
