Its a time for the LIS professionals to build the skills and enhance for the coming period henceforth in order to provide the services to the varied user segments using the required attitude and tools. MES IMCC & MUCTA rolling out an International Virtual Developmental Programme for the Librarians (during 24th May to 30th May 2020). The programme is a well mix of the sessions practical tools and the attitudinal skills which are required to imbibe for building overall personality of the Librarians for superseding the challenges in the coming period.

IMCC is a premier Management Institute, which is recognized by Savitribai Phule Pune University & Approved by AICTE New Delhi to conduct MBA & MCA programmes accredited by NBA New Delhi, India. About MES IMCC Library and Information Resource Centre

MES IMCC’s library and information resource centre is one of the best libraries in the Pune regional Academic Institutions as regard to the services and ICT application. The Library of MES IMCC, Pune was established in the year 1983. The period from 1996 and onward can be considered as the metamorphosis period for the IMCC Library. Library has focused on the embedded librarianship model and thus the purpose of a library is to disseminate knowledge by providing customized library service packages especially to the faculty members and research scholars. The library is enriched with the printed and non-print collection focused on the Management and Computer Science. Library is providing easy access to e-documents such as University question Papers, Syllabi, and Summer Projects through the Digital Institutional Repository created by using d-space, and also provides access to on-line databases such as ASPP (IEEE) and also the INFLIBNET’s N-List database.The library is computerised using Koha open library software for automating the functions and services. The library uses auto transaction mode for the Library Documents Transaction purpose through the effective use of bar-coded collection and in-house generated ID cards & Borrowers’ Tickets. The library is also focused on the use of social networking aspects such as blogs and what’s app medium for creating effective communication with the users.

MES IMCC’s IGNOU Study Centre 16142 & YCMOU SC

IMCC believes on education to all and also on providing education through distance learning mode. IMCC has a regular regular study centre of IGNOU (SC 16142) approved by IGNOU New Delhi in 2014. The entire library team is active in taking lead towards managing the entire IGNOU study centre. At present the centre runs 10 academic programs for 1209 learners. IMCC also has YCMOU SC on campus the center runs BCA, BLib I Sc, and M.Lib.I.Sc. on campus.

MES’s LIS Autonomous Programs

The MES has launched prestigious One Year Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Library Management, Automation and Networking (PGDLIMAN) focused on effective utilization of advanced technology in LIS Field. The professional colleagues in the library science field are registering for this programme. Institution also conducts SET NET Training program for LIS professionals twice in a year to provide special guidance to the LIS professionals in the State. The program has become very successful and popular as candidates are not only registering from Pune but also from the varied places of Maharashtra. As on today, total 28 candidates from the 7 batches (205 candidates) of the programme qualified the SET/NET examinations.

About Mumbai University and College Teachers Association (MUCTA)

Mumbai University and College Teachers Association (MUCTA) established in the year 2008 and is registered under Society registration Act. Association is affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM). As per the objective of the Association Since its inception MUCTA started taking keen interest in the teachers’ wellbeing. A massive awareness drive was conducted throughout Mumbai University affiliated Colleges under the leadership of Dr. Shekhar Chandratre, as President and Dr. Namdev Mandge, as General Secretary. MUCTA contested University Senate elections and three candidates could win the election. Since three members were elected as the authority members it became easy for MUCTA to raise issues for safeguarding teachers interest like timely salary payment, allowances, service conditions, work load, examination remuneration, approvals, CAS, syllabus revision on regular intervals etc. Its basic objective is to organize and unite teachers employed in Mumbai University and affiliated colleges, autonomous colleges, institutes or departments of institutions of post graduate whether employed directly or otherwise in the Mumbai University for the welfare of the Members. It renders help to teachers in matter arising out of / or incidental to their welfare and to represent them in various bodies and authorities., Apart from this, the organization organizes Seminars, Workshops, Shibir, Symposiums, Conferences etc for the teachers to ensure their training welfare and self improvement. It encourages organization of other activities or programs for the welfare and settlement of educational community in general and teachers in particular.
