American Indian Institute at MCC

Hello Thunderbirds!

This week, we will be highlighting the American Indian Institute on the Mesa Community College campus. Despite working remotely, the department is still operating and taking calls. The American Indian Institute truly cares about students, and wants to welcome all to take advantage of their services. The majority of the eligibility for the programs scholarships, advising, clubs, and more have to do with students from tribes. Even if not in a tribe, Sam, one of the advisors, said the department never wants to turn students away. If they can’t help you, they will find the proper resources for you. They truly care about the community based on the tribe mentality of “building a community and making it a family”. If you are affiliated with a tribe, or what to get involved with the department, reach out to either one of the two advisors or director of the program.

Advisors: Samuel Stevens & Talia White

Director: Jim Larney
