Divisions are reorganized each year to create 4 divisions of approximately equal size. Depending on how which district enrolland how many students are in each of those districts, your division designation may change from year to year.
Timeline for Planning and Participation

SLALN Meeting. Determine participation in Math Meet
October
Math Meet payment submitted to Treasurer for all participating teams from your District
November/December
Participating schools select students to participate
Schools may use whatever process they prefer. Math Meet Screener tests are available for each grade level. MAP scores or other assessments forms may also be used as well as academic performance in the classroom.
5th/6th grade team
Four 5th graders and four 6th graders to form an 8 member team
Students must be in 5th or 6th grade regardless of math grade placement
7th/8th Grade Team
Four 7th graders and four 8th graders form an eight member team
Sudents must be in 7th or 8th grade regardless of math level placement
One alternate per grade level is highly recommended.
Participating schools begin or continue working with students. Preparation can include classroom materials, higher level math concpets, and/or practice tests. Math meet practice tests are available for each team via the website.
Prepare transportation services for your district if needed.
Finalize Chaperones for your team.
