Roofing Repairs
Hear from Lafayette Mills Elementary School’s Principal Greg Duffy about how new roofing would protect the school and lessen disruption for students and staff members.
Efficiency Enhancements
Staff members from Milford Brook School talk about the importance of having a healthy and efficient learning environment.
What's being proposed?
Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District (MERS) schools are well-maintained, but the time has come for us to replace and upgrade the systems and structures that keep our schools running.
Proposed improvements that would benefit all eight schools total $115.4 million with nearly EVERY project qualifying for maximum amount of state aid. This aid is only received through a voter approved referendum, which would offset the local share by $36.7 million.
Supporting Student Success
The referendum proposes improvements to every school across the district, including:

Add a small addition to the rear of the building to accommodate the Board of Education offices so maintaining a separate building on Main Street is no longer necessary
How would an addition for administrative offices serve the district better than the Main Street building?
Cost Efficiency: It would take millions of dollars to renovate the Main Street building and continue making frequent repairs to fix recurring issues. The Board of Education believes this is not sustainable or fiscally responsible. The district could sell the current building and use the proceeds toward building an addition on MEMS that is updated to better meet the district’s needs and eliminate the need to maintain an additional building and grounds.
Unity: Moving administrative staff members to an on-campus location would foster a community feeling that promotes better connections with faculty and students.
