Philosophy of Education
Teaching to me is a journey. We will head on different paths and discover new things together. I may hold the map, but my students will lead the way. There might be rocky roads, and twists and turns but that all adds to the educational experience. My goal is to guide students on their educational journey knowing they have the care and support they need to get past any roadblocks they may encounter.
I believe all students should be engaged in the classroom. All my students should never feel bored, or uninterested. To achieve this, I plan on creating a hands-on environment and using experiential learning that can be connected to real-world experiences, class discussions, group work, and projects. With an environment like this, students will be engaged in class, making a classroom where every student is involved, and active.
I believe all students deserve to be heard and cared for. Students should have at least one place, and one person they will feel valued, comfortable, fully and truly heard. No student should feel they cannot approach the teacher, out of fear, or thinking they will be a burden to the teacher. I am committed to care for all my students and show them someone is ready to listen, support, and walk with them throughout any challenge, whether inside or outside the classroom.
