Focus groups conducted at six pilot schools within the Anchorage Public School District in December of 2019 by Dr. Juliana Cohen. Focus groups were either parents, teachers, or the principal.

Thematic Coding
The three principal interviews that were transcribed were put into an excel sheet to break up the interviews via thematic coding. Quotes from the transcriptions were analyzed as either a positive, negative, or neutral statement. Afterwards, the quote was categorized towards who it was referring to, either parents, staff, or students. Finally, up to two main reasons were assigned to the quote.
