In April 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College in Toronto, Canada. During my time in the program, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with several athletes on a variety of sports teams. Some of those sports included football, hockey, rugby, field hockey, and soccer. I also gained many hours of hands-on experience working independently in clinical settings. Through my clinical and field experiences, I gained over 1200 hours of experience and I developed important hands-on expertise assessing students, athletes, and the general public. I established and incorporated skills in injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, manual therapy, and athletic taping. After graduating from the Athletic Therapy undergraduate program, I moved to Boston to pursue a Master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science at Merrimack College, where I am expected to graduate in December 2020. This past year, I became a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer in the United States to compliment my certification in Canada as an Athletic Therapist. Currently, I am working as a graduate fellow at Newton Country Day School while completing my Master’s degree. As a fellow, I am gaining more experience in the field and clinic as I am continuously striving to improve my expertise to become the best Athletic Trainer I can be.
