I grew up in Greenup, IL, and I graduated from Cumberland High School. From there I went on to receive my degree in Agricultural Leadership and Science Education from the University of Illinois. During my education, I student taught down in Southern Illinois in Okawville. Now, I am excited to be back a little closer to home here at Meridian!
Growing up, my uncle and grandpa raised crops in the river bottoms at home. On my uncle's farm, I helped him raise sheep, goats, llamas, and some poultry. Every summer I would show livestock at local shows in the county and around. Although without much experience, I had a passion for plants and their properties. So, when I got to college, I joined Horticulture Club and took a lot of Crop Sciences, Horticulture, and Plant Biology classes.
I am really passionate about the subject, and I am happy I get to show the kids all the opportunities they can have in agriculture!
