Scholarships may require a transcript. Take note if the committee is asking for an official or unofficial transcript. An official transcript can be obtained through the counseling office (Request for Transcripts). Parents or students can obtain an unofficial transcript through their JMC portal.

Robert D. Blue Scholarship   -The applicant must be an Iowa resident planning to attend an Iowa college/university during the 2020-2021 school year. The applicant can be a current high school senior or someone already enrolled in a college/university. The Robert D. Blue Scholarship awards students who demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display moral force of character. The applicant must be an Iowa resident planning to attend an Iowa college/university during the 2024-2025 school year. Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts: Iowa Merit Awards for Dramatic Performance -Open to all Iowa high school students (grades 10-12) in good standing at an accredited high school and with grade point averages of 3.0 or greater who are studying drama and have acted in official school productions for 2018 and/or 2019. Students must be enrolled – or recently graduated – for the 2019 academic year to qualify. International Association of Arson Investigators - This scholarship is available to students who have been accepted or enrolled in a field of study promoting a career in one of the following professions:  Fire Service, Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Law, Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Technology, or Insurance.  More information is listed here. Application Deadline:  March, 30: however, has been extended until May 31, 2024.

Iowa Health Care Association Foundation Scholarship - This Scholarship is made possible by the Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation and is for high school seniors who are in their senior year during the 2023-2024 academic year.  Applicant must be a high school senior, resident of Iowa, and must be enrolled or accepted in a college with an accredited CNA, LPN, RN, or BSN program in Iowa with the intent of working toward that program in the 2024-2025 school year.  More information is available here.  Application is available online only.  Deadline:  May 31, 2024.

Iowa Recycling  Association: Diane-Albertson-Memorial-Scholarship  –The scholarship will be awarded to one or more students with a demonstrated interest in environmental action, especially as related to recycling and waste reduction. The number of scholarship awards is based on the availability of funds. Applicants for the scholarship must be enrolled (or have been accepted for enrollment) as a full-time undergraduate for the 2018-19 school year.  Visit IowaRecycles.Org for more information.  Applications are available online.  Deadline: May 31, 2024.

Horatio Alger Scholarships -Various scholarships for seniors who plan to  pursue a 4-year college degree and have demonstrated strong financial need and integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. Must be U.S. citizen and have a minimum cum GPA of 2.0.  Application Online Only.  Deadline: June 1, 2024.

Southeast Iowa Draft Horse and Mule Association Scholarship -This is a scholarship for seniors who are in Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Van Buren, Wapello or Washington counties.  Applicants must have experience with horses and tie their experience to the essay that needs to be included. You will also need to have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to be eligible.  Please read all directions for the application.  Deadline: June 5, 2024.

Iowa PGA Charlie Burkart Scholarship –  Open to any graduating senior whose parent(s) are members of a club/course employing a PGA member or registered apprentice of the Iowa Section. Winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, their academic ability and financial need.  Application available via  pdf. The minimum cumulative GPA must be met to earn each award.  Students will be expected to meet the minimum GPA paired with the  ACT or SAT score for the Loyal Scholar and the Forever Scholar.  The awards are not stackable.  We accept weighted GPA.

Iowa State offers recognition awards to Iowa Students who fulfill specific academic requirements.  The awards are automatically awarded to Iowa students who have been offered admission to Iowa State

GPA:  Minimum cumulative high school GPA (4 point scale) rounded to the nearest hundredth or second decimal place.  We accept weighted GPA, provided the school's weighted grading system does not award more than one additionally quality point to the grade earned in weighted courses.

Test score:  Minimum ACT composite or minimum SAT Total (Reading and Writing+Math) is used.  We accept a student's best score, including ACT provided superscore.

Deadline:  Students must be admitted by March 1, 2024, as a first-year student entering directly from high school.  Awards may be made after May 1 contingent upon the availability of funds.  These awards are specifically available to students enrolling for the Fall of 2024.  Scholarships are reviewed annually and are subject to change for future enrolling classes.

Final Transcript and Test Score:  Awards are offered based on preliminary or self-reported academic information, but all awards are contingent upon receipt of the official, final high school transcript and test score verifying the requirements have been met.  The award will be withdrawn if all requirements have not been fulfilled.  Students will be offered the highest award value they qualify to receive based on their cumulative GPA to the second decimal.  Awards can be updated during the year if their GPA or test score improves.

First-year Student Status:  A student must enroll at Iowa State University for the fall semester immediately following high school graduation to qualify for a first-year student award; a student who has attempted college coursework following high school graduation (with the exception of the summer term) is not eligible for first-year student awards.  Students enrolling for spring term can be eligible as long as they have not taken college courses after high school graduation.  A student must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to qualify.

Eligibility for other awards:  These awards are not tuition specific.  They can be used toward a student's total University bill and combined with scholarships offered by an undergraduate college, department, or the Office of Student Financial Aide.  Awards may be reduced or eliminated if the total award amount from all sources of aid exceeds the cost of attendance.  Students who receive a full tuition scholarship like the National Merit Tuition Scholarship, George Washing Carver Scholastic Leadership Award, First Cyclones Scholarship, or Science Bound Scholarship are not eligible for merit awards from the Office of Admissions including the Recognition Awards for Iowa Students.

Iowa Scholars Award: $2,500/year Minimum Requirements: 27 ACT AND 3.80 GPA OR 30 ACT AND 3.70 GPA

Old Gold Scholarship: $5,000/year Minimum Requirements: 30 ACT AND 3.80 GPA

Iowa Flagship Award: $8,500/year Minimum Requirements: 33 ACT AND 3.80 GPA

Advantage Iowa Scholarship: $2,000 – $8,000 annually Minimum Requirements: The award is based on merit (test scores and GPA), contributing criteria also includes students that are from historically underrepresented populations (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, Multiracial) at the University of Iowa or participation in a federally funded Upward Bound program.

Scholarships automatically awarded at point of admission

Distinguished Scholars Award: Available to Iowa residents, new high school graduates. Renewable with a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.  Three levels of annual awards:

UNI-T.E.D. Scholarship (NEW for students entering UNI for Fall 2019): The UNI-T.E.D.(UNIfying Through Excellence & Diversity) Scholarship is awarded to new freshman students after admission and can range from $500 – $2,000 annually. The award amount may increase if the student demonstrates financial need. This scholarship may be renewable for up to four years with a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher. To qualify, students must meet one of the following:

Western Commitment Scholarships are automatically awarded to incoming freshmen with a 3.3 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and enrolled full time un WIU undergraduate courses. This is renewable for an additional 3 years of continuous full-time undergraduate study.  Must maintain a 3.0 GPA at WIU.  Scholarships will be disbursed in equal amounts between the fall and spring semesters.  Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds.

Burlington Area YMCA John Slocum Honorary Scholarship -Available to any senior student who is a member of the “Y” and has a 2.5 GPA. Application available via pdf Deadline: March 1, 2020. Not available for the 2023-2024 school year.

Des Moines County Corn & Soybean Scholarship 2022 - Applicant must be a high school senior accepted to an accredited 2-4 year college or university at the time the scholarship is issued. Parent(s) or grandparent(s) of applicant must be a current Des Moines County Corn Growers & Soybean Association member. Application available via pdf.  Deadline: Postmarked on or before April 15, 2021.  Not available for 2023-2024 school year.

Optimist International Scholarship 2023  -This scholarship is to give young people room to develop their own views around a central idea. In addition to the opportunity for written expression, participants have the chance to win a college scholarship!  This is a 700-800 word essay.  This is a club scholarship, district scholarship and national scholarship.   Please mail your essay to PO Box 595, Burlington, IA 52655, or email to optimistclubburlington@gmail.com.  Deadline: January 31, 2023.

WQAD S.O.A.R. Scholarship –  They are looking for seniors who exemplify the SOAR characteristics.  S-Strength of character, O-Optimism-predictions of future success and where you will be making a difference, A – Achievement in academics and volunteerism, R- Resolve shown when faced with an adversarial situation.  They also must meet the following requirements, be a current high school (or home-schooled) senior in the WQAD viewing area, be a graduate of 2023, planning to pursue further education and/or training after high school, must be 16 years or older to enter. Tenneco Scholarship–  Open to qualified students of hourly and salaried new Tenneco (Global Services, Clean Air, Powertrain, DriV and Performance Solutions) employees.  Requirements:  Any high school senior, with a parent or legal guardian who is a regular full-time employee of new Tenneco (Clean Air, Corporate or Powertrain) with one year of continued service on or before May 1 of the scholarship year and must be actively employed on that date.  More information can be found here.  Students only can apply online.  Opens February 27, 2023.  Deadline to apply:  April 30, 2023.

Garage Gurus®  Scholarship,  the industry-leading training and support platform from Tenneco’s DRiV group, has announced that its Automotive Technician Scholarship Program will return for 2023. Now in its ninth year, the Gurus will again award up to $30,000 in scholarships to future automotive technicians who are accepted or currently enrolled in accredited, U.S.-based automotive technical schools, colleges, and universities, or enrolled full-time at a U.S. high school. The Last Dollar Scholarship Eligible to high graduating high school students who enroll in a qualified program of study full-time for the fall immediately following high school graduation, apply for all other available state and federal grants and scholarships, and meet ongoing requirements.   ADULT LEARNERS (age 20 and older) who enroll in a qualified program of study full-time or part-time, apply for all other available state and federal grants and scholarships, and meet ongoing requirementsDeadline: August 1, 2023.

College Raptor Scholarship -Applicants must be 16 or older.  Be enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2023) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university or trade school). Applicants must register with College Raptor, use their scholarship tool, and submit an essay.   Application online only.  Deadline: September 30, 2023.

Be Bold Scholarship  -  To us, the boldest does not mean "best" or "most accomplished".  Being Bold means being:  earnest, determined, and moving.  The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose profile is most bold, according to these characteristics. Furthermore, the scholarship will be unique in that it will favor students who apply earlier-who are bold and seize the day without procrastinating.   Application Online Only.  Deadline: October 1, 2023. Winners will be announced December 1, 2023.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation  -This is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. Heisman ScholarshipThe program recognizes and rewards high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities.  Winning a Heisman High School Scholarship presented by Acceptance Insurance requires a weighted GPA of 3.0 or better, participation in at least one school-sponsored sport, and demonstrated leadership at school and in the community.  Must be a graduating senior of the current school year.  Application is available online only.  Apply hereDeadline October 17, 2023.

Elks Club Most Valuable Student Open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need  Application Online Only. Deadline: November 13, 2023.

Save Now, Save Later: College Savings Plan Parent Giveaway -Open to Parents and guardians of Iowa students in grades 6-12.  Entering its fifth year, the Save Now, Save Later program gives Iowa parents a chance at one of 50 individual $1,000 deposits into a College Savings Iowa® plan for an eligible child.  There is no purchase necessary to enter the program. As part of the registration process, parents view the Parent Handbook and enter contact information to register for a random drawing.  Application Online Only.  Opens September 1, 2023.  Deadline November 30, 2023.

Drake National Alumni Scholarship – To qualify, students must meet these minimum requirements:  ACT composite score of 31 (without writing), or SAT math and critical reading combined score of 1390  (exams taken March 2016 or later).   Rank in the top 5 percent of their class AND/OR have a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or above on a 4.0 scale (a weighted grade point average on a 4.0 scale is considered).  Submit the National Alumni Scholarship application no later than 11:59 p.m. December 1, 2023.   Either be admitted to Drake University or submit a complete Drake University application for admission.  (and all required application documents)  by December 1, 2023. AXA Achievement Scholarship –Applicants must be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2022 academic year.  Applicants must demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. Only 10,000 applications will be accepted so apply early.  Application Online Only. Deadline: December 18, 2023.

Better Business Bureau Student of Integrity Scholarship   -Applicant must be from BBB Serving Greater Iowa, Quad City and Siouxland Region service area. Applicant must be a high school senior scheduled to graduate in 2023. All applicants must be recommended by a school official. Only one application per school will be accepted. Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship  -Applicants must be a current undergraduate student in a two-year swine program or four-year college of agriculture and a U.S. citizen. High school students are not eligible. Write a brief letter indicating what role the applicant sees themselves playing in the pork industry after graduation.  Submit an essay of 750 words or less describing an issue the applicant sees confronting the pork industry today or in the future, including offering their solutions.  Obtain two letters of reference from current or former professors or industry professionals.  Please submit all items listed  in the scholarship information to the following email: info@nppc.orgDeadline: January 2, 2024.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship  -Applicants must: demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship; demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent); be citizens of the United States of America; be current high school seniors and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year. In addition, semi finalists must be nominated by an eligible community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need.  Application Online Only.  Deadline: January 4, 2024.

Iowa State University: First Cyclones Scholarship  -Prospective students must: Be a resident of the state of Iowa, and a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, Be admissible to Iowa State University, be a First-Generation college student and/or low income eligible.  (FAFSA must be submitted by February 1, 2024.  Application Online Only Deadline: January 10, 2024.

National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholarship   -Applicant must be a senior, must have achieved at least two (2) of the following: (a) minimum of B+ average; (b)ranked in the top 25% of class; (c) ACT score of 24 or an SAT score of 1100 (Math and Reading), must have participated in two sports for at least two years in each sport, must have earned at least one varsity letter in each of two sports, must complete attached scholar/essay application, must have a letter of recommendation from the high school athletic administrator/director. School athletic administrator/director must be an NIAAA member and a member of their respective state athletic administrators association. The principal or athletic administrator/director must sign the application to ensure that the academic information submitted is accurate. Timberline Billing Service Scholarship Award - This scholarship is for graduating seniors.  This is not a financial needs-based scholarship. Any student who is currently on, or has been on, an IEP during their secondary education and wishes to continue their education/training past high school is eligible to apply. The scholarship may be used for tuition, room/board, transportation, books, or any accommodation necessary for the student to be successful in their learning environment. The student must have applied to an educational institution or other formal educational program above high school.  See attached guidelines in the application form.  Applications must be received by January 16, 2024.

Muscatine Chapter of the Iowa Engineering Society  The Muscatine Chapter of the Iowa Engineering Society is pleased to announce their sponsorship of two scholarships in the amount of $1500 to students interested in pursuing an engineering degree and career.  To qualify for these scholarships, a student must meet the following criteria:  Intend to pursue a career in engineering,  Be a high school senior and attend either the University of Iowa or Iowa State University in the fall of 2024.  Be a citizen of the US, and a resident of Iowa and attend school in one of the following counties: Des Moines, Louisa, or Muscatine.  Carry a 3.0 grade point average through their 10th and 11th grades.  Have a composite ACT score of at least 24.  Application available via pdf.  Please send items to Christopher S. United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship – Seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools.  Applications are available via pdf or Word. Deadline: January 19, 2024.

Bill Mertens Memorial Daily Iowan ScholarshipMertens, a former DI staffer and long-time SPI Board member, was editor and publisher of The (Burlington) Hawk Eye from 1984 to 2004. He died in 2004 and left a legacy of journalistic achievement over three decades. Drake Physics Prize  -The Drake Physics Prize Test is given to students in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, South Dakota, and North Dakota. First prize in the test is a full, four year tuition scholarship to the Drake Physics and Astronomy department. A second four year tuition scholarship is offered to a runner-up (top 50 seniors) based on the academic record of the student, high school teacher and counselor recommendations, and the results of interviews held in April. Mediacom World Class Scholars Scholarship  -Applicants must have very good grades and demonstrate leadership ability. An essay and references are required. University of Iowa: The Strayer-Rairden Scholarship in Physics -The Strayer-Rairden scholarship provides a $1,000 award, renewable for up to three successive years following the initial award, to an entering freshman from the state of Iowa.  This person is selected by the Department of Physics and Astronomy as the state’s best-qualified applicant who has declared physics or astronomy as their major.  This scholarship is awarded on the basis o9f academic merit, not financial need.   Applications are available online. Garrett’s Path College Scholarship  -Garrett M. Brockway made an incredible impact in the lives of his family, friends and community. Masonry Institute of Iowa Charles Nicolay Educational Foundation Scholarship  -Applicant must be an Iowa high school student or college student and must attend an Iowa institution and continuing their education in the Construction / Architecture / Engineering field. Iowa State University: Thelma V. and John T McColm Scholarship – Awards in the amount of $1000 are available to entering freshmen. First priority is given to graduates of West Liberty High School and Louisa-Muscatine (L & M) High School. Second priority is given to graduates from high schools in Muscatine and Louisa counties. Third priority is given to graduates of high schools in Cedar, Des Moines, Henry, Johnson, Scott, and Washington counties in Iowa. DMC Conservation Districts of Iowa This scholarship is for any senior who will be attending college in the fields of agriculture or natural resources. Winners are selected for Des Moines County before being submitted to state competition. Criteria are leadership (service, character, self-motivation), scholastic achievement, and need. GE Star Awards:  -Open to high school seniors who are children of eligible GE employees and retirees worldwide. The purpose is to defray first-year higher education expenses. Recipients are chosen through a selective application process, and are awarded a one-time award in one of two categories: 4-Year Category or 2-Year Category.  Please see the official question and answer sheet on the application page.  Application is online only.  Deadline: February 14, 2024.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund -HSF empowers families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services to as many exceptional students as possible.  Founded in 1975, HSF has awarded over $650 million in scholarships. HSF Scholars have access to valuable Scholar Support Services and, as funding permits, Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000. Southeast Iowa Builders Association Construction Scholarship  -Applicants must enroll as a full-time student in Construction Management/Engineering/Technology Program or similar. IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union Scholarship -Applicants are required to be a member by the application deadline, graduating high school senior, be enrolled at an accredited two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school.    Application is Online Only.  Deadline: February 29, 2024.

Iowa Hospital Association Health Care Careers Scholarship  -Students (standard and nontraditional) must meet and agree to these requirements before applying:  Students must be enrolled in an accredited program leading to licensure or a clinical laboratory degree.  Students must be within three years of completing their professional education.  Students must complete the online application form by the deadline.  Following graduation, students must agree to work for an Iowa hospital (including Iowa hospital-owned clinics and long-term care facilities) for one year for each scholarship awarded. Employment must be in the career and in the district selected on the application form.  If the scholarship is for the Emergency Medical Technology/Technician Certification Program, students must work for one year with an EMT company serving Iowa hospitals in the district selected on the application form.  Application is online only.  Deadline: February 29, 2024.

American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors Scholarship  -This scholarship is for undergraduate study only at a four-year accredited college or university, and may be used for tuition, books, fees, room and board.  It is available to daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, great-grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during eligibiltiy dates for membership in The American Legion.  Eligibility dates are April 6, 1917- November 11, 1918 and anytime after December 7, 1941.  Application is online only.  Deadline: March 1, 2024.

The Edward Archer Memorial/MP&W Powerline Scholarships –   Applicants must have applied and been accepted into the Northwest Iowa Community College Powerline program, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, have a record of good class attendance and demonstrated leadership.  Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, high school counselor, or current employer and submit a personal letter addressing your desire to succeed in the profession. Hagan Scholarship Foundation: The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, self-motivated students in need of financial assistance to attend college. These students will graduate from a public, private, charter, magnet or STEM high school. Recipients must maintain a four-year graduation schedule, maintain a 3.50 CGPA, work 240 hours prior to commencement of the fall semester in college.  Applicant's adjusted gross household income reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes must not exceed $100,000.  Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.  Must not have a felony conviction.  Application Online Only. Kayla Atkins Memorial Scholarship    -Offered in memory of Kayla, a 2009 graduate of Burlington High School who lost her battle with cancer in 2012. Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation Director’s Scholarship – Offered to graduates of Louisa Resource Area School.  This encompasses a little  bit bigger circle that includes Louisa County residents and surrounding communities who will be attending any college, university or technical school (note-the Paris Scholarship requires candidates attend an Iowa school).  Study emphasis must lead to a degree in natural resources or conservation or in another field, such as education.  Candidates with a study emphasis outside of natural resources/conservation must provide either professional or personal justification for how their emphasis of study will meet the scholarship objectives.  Application available via pdfDeadline is March 15, 2024.

Altrusa International Scholarship (Burlington, Iowa) -This service organization offers a scholarship to any school or any career based on an average grade point average, financial need, character and leadership. AGCIA-Diesel Technology Scholarship – AGC Iowa Foundation is offering scholarships to high school seniors entering diesel technician or diesel engine diploma programs at community colleges across the state.  Applicants must demonstrate a strong desire to work on diesel engines and preference will be given to individuals who are interested in working in the heavy highway industry.  Deadline: March 29, 2024.

AGCIA- Highway Construction Scholarship  – The AGC Iowa Foundation has decided to offer scholarships to high school seniors interested in Heavy Equipment Operation, Engineering Technician, or general construction programs.  Preference will be given to individuals who are interested in working in the heavy highway industry.  Deadline: March 29, 2024.

Iowa Financial  Know-How Challenge: Senior Scholarship -Open to Seniors who will attend college in the fall of 2023.  Register online and follow emailed instructions to complete two online components.  Scholarships are awarded to 30 students with the highest scores.  Scholarship award will be $2,000 plus $250 to the recipient’s  high school.  Application Online Only.  Deadline March 29, 2024.

Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship   Applicant must be a graduate of a Des Moines County high school who is an undergraduate majoring in education.   Applicant must show qualities of leadership, demonstrate success in academics, and be involved in extracurricular and/or community activities. Airman Memorial Foundation Scholarship - Must be an unmarried child/adopted or stepchild of active duty, retired or veteran memeber of USAF, ANG, or AFRC.  NO OFFICER DEPENDANTS!  Must be under the age of 23 years old and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.  Student must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.   Application available online.  Deadline:  March 31, 2024.

Home Builders Association Scholarship  - This is to provide scholarship funds to students pursing a career in the home building industry and related trades.  Any student pursing a career in the home building industry and related trades including immediate family members of the HBA of Iowa.  This fund is dedicated but not limited to college age students between the ages of 18-25 years.  Application available  Deadline:  March 31, 2024.

Iowa Golf Association Ann Griffel Scholarship  -Available to Iowa high school senior girls who intend to further their education at an Iowa institution of higher learning, whether a college, university or trade school.  Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and leadership qualities, not on golf accomplishments or ability. Scholarships are awarded and recipients are selected solely based on the items submitted with this application.  Application is online only.  Deadline: March 31, 2024.

No Sweat Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to students in grade 9-12, including homeschooled kids.  This is a quarterly scholarship of $2500 per quarter, that is super easy to apply.  Just create a Cirkled In account, complete your portfolio.  No GPA requirements, or essays to write.  Application is Online only.  Deadline:  March 31, 2024.

SFM Foundation Scholarship -Must be the natural, adopted, step-child or full dependent of a worker injured or killed in a work-related accident during the course and scope of employment with a Minnesota-, Wisconsin-, or Iowa-based employer and entitled to receive benefits under the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Act, Worker’s Compensation Act of Wisconsin or Iowa’s workers’ compensation law. Must be a Minnesota, Wisconsin or Iowa resident between the ages of 16 and 25 at the time of the application. Must have a high school diploma, GED or be a high school student in good standing. Academic achievement, aptitude, extracurricular activities, and community service of the applicant are considered. Grade point average will be reviewed against the number of hours the applicant works and his/her community involvement. Must be pursuing a primary college or university degree (bachelor’s or associate’s) or vocational education and training (certificate or license) from any accredited school. Through Joshua's Eyes Scholarship - Applicant must be a graduate of a Des Moines County, Iowa High School. University of the Aftermarket Foundation ScholarshipMust be planning to be a full-time student in one of the following career choice - Automotive, Heavy Duty, or Collision Repair School.  You are required to submit a one-page essay about your career goal, at least 1 letter of reference, and submit your high school transcript.  Applications are available online.  Deadline: March 31, 2024.

Chemical Coaters Association International ScholarshipHigh school senior planning to attend college or technical school or a current college or technical school student.  Sincere interest in supervision, production & processing, engineering, management, chemistry or quality control in the finishing industry.  Minimum of 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.  Enrolled in a technical or degree granting program that would qualify the student to be hired into the industrial finishing industry.  Application is online here. Great River Friends  -Great River Friends awards scholarships to high-school students who are pursuing health-care careers. High-school seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or above may apply. Applicants must live in Great River Health System’s service area (approximately a 60-mile radius of Burlington). Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award -This program annually identifies and honors up to 15 Iowa high school juniors who propose and then accomplish a project of their own choosing and design.  Grades, test scores, essays and financial need are NOT evaluated.  To apply, students must be juniors in an Iowa high school in the spring of the application year, with a high school graduation date of the spring of the following year.  Application Online Only. Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship - Graduating high school senior a 2.5 GPA or higher.  Must demonstrate a financial need.  Current or four year degree enrollment in the following majors:  Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathmatics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics.  Must have a current or planned full time attendance at an accredited four year college or university, and interest in a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college.  Application Online Only.  Deadline:  April 1, 2024.

Professional Educators of Iowa Scholarship  -This program has multiple scholarships open to students who will be graduating from high school during the 2022-2023 school year.  Please see all the different requirements for the different scholarships available.  An official transcript, letter of recommendation from a teacher, an essay and current photo are all required.  Please see the list of scholarships available here.    Deadline: April 1, 2024.

Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary  -Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary awards scholarships to high-school students who are pursuing health-care careers.  Awards will be based on grades, leadership, character, community involvement and financial need. Students will need to complete the scholarship application, submit a copy of your high school transcript, write an essay, obtain letters of support from one professional and one personal reference. Ag Coop Safety Directors of Iowa ScholarshipThe Ag Coop Safety Directors of Iowa Scholarship is open to high school Seniors looking to go on to a career in an Agriculture or Safety related field and must be planning to attend college/university during the upcoming school year. Applicants will be required to fill out a simple application and submit an essay on “What does Ag Safety mean to you?”. Des Moines County Cattlemens Scholarship -Applicant whose parent or grandparent is and has been a continuous member of the Des Moines County Cattleman Association. Applicant must attend a 2 or 4 year school with a preference to majoring in but not limited to an agricultural related field. A 2.0 Grade Point Average is required. Donald & Bonnie Hoenig Speech Scholarship Available for graduating seniors from schools in  Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Louisa and Van Buren counties.  Scholarship recipients must be pursuing studies in Speech Therapy and/or Speech Pathology or related field at an accredited college or university.  This is a renewable scholarship for four years.  Students should have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA while in high school.  Application online only.  Deadline: April 15, 2024.

Mike Rowe Works Foundation Scholarship - Offered to students who are enrolled in an approved program.  Sign the S.W.E.A.T Pledge.  Make a video.  Have 2 solid references from a teacher or boss.  Verify your school costs.  Provide a high school transcript, and send your most recent 1040 tax form.  Please read all guidelines to see what career is approved. **Four year degrees and Bachelor programs are not eligible.**  Application  is online.  Deadline:  April 17, 2024

Optimist Youth Appreciation Scholarship  – Optimist Club of Burlington-West Burlington is offering a scholarship to students who have modeled the values of the Optimist Creed.  Students must select one adult to sponsor them and the sponsor must complete the sponsor information on the provided form.  Deadline:  April 19, 2024.

Solid Rock Baptist Church Thatcher Ray Helmig Memorial Scholarship -Applicants must be a resident of Louisa County with a GPA at least 3.0 and have accepted Christian Faith.  Application has a different due date, but the correct date is April 15, 2023.
