Jazz Band

The Shore Jazz Band is a select ensemble available to band students who have completed Cadet Band. The ensemble rehearsal schedule will be confirmed by August 27, with rehearsals beginning the week of September 8. 

In Jazz Band students will:

• Improve upon the fundamentals learned in concert band (tone, posture, balance, blend, etc)

• Improve their music literacy skills

• Learn about the blues and 12 bar blues form

• Learn to improvise over the blues

• Play in and learn about various styles of music (swing, rock, latin)

• Gain confidence in their musicianship
