Self-service password reset instructions

As part of our philosophy to make life easier and to further empower staff and students, Mentone Girls’ Grammar IT have setup the Microsoft Password Self-service Portal.

*Please ensure you have completed the password recovery registration before using the self-service password reset. If you know you haven't completed this then contact IT services via email servicedesk@mentonegirls.vic.edu.au or log an IT support request -> https://mentonegirls.atlassian.net/servicedesk/

1. Self-service password reset wizard. Click on the following link to start the reset process - https://aka.ms/sspr

You should also see this link on the mConnect login page.

2. Enter your school email address as the ID, for example jsmith@mentonegirls.vic.edu.au

3. Choose a password option. The first option will reset and change your password. The second option only unlocks the account but does not change the password.

4. The next step will send a code to your private mobile phone or personal email address entered some time ago. After you enter these details

5. After you have received the code, enter these details and click next.

6. Enter your new password.

Please ensure your password meets the following requirements.

  • The password is at least eight characters long.

  • The password contains characters from three of the following four categories:

      • English uppercase characters (from A through Z)

      • English lowercase characters (from a through z)

      • Base 10 digits (from 0 through 9)

      • Non-alphanumeric characters (for example: !, $, #, or %)

  • The password does not contain the user’s login account name or any part of the display name (first name, surname).

  • Try not to use easy dictionary words.

  • Enforces password history of 10 unique passwords.

7. Finally, please ensure you have logged out of all websites and applications that use this account or restart your computer before logging in with your new password.
