Bond funding finances big projects at a reduced cost to local taxes thanks to state aid. For Mendham Borough, that’s a $3.39 million advantage.
Our bond proposal includes a mix of critical repairs and upgrades that would better serve current and future students and the community. All of the proposed projects in Question 1 qualify for the maximum amount of state aid, but that money can only be given to the district if voters approve the bond referendum.

The proposed addition in Q2 would bring a designated classroom for music.
Students gathered in current cafetorium for an assembly.
The auditorium proposed in Q2 would seat over 380 people.
An auditorium would build upon an already robust passion for the performing arts that exists in our schools and community – more than 70% of Mountain View students participate in the performing arts.
Did you know that students currently perform musicals and concerts in the cafeteria? This space has a small stage that does not have proper lighting or sound. The cafeteria tables and chairs, as well as folding chairs, are used for audience members. The current arrangement is truly not intended for performances. Additionally, the addition will have restrooms located conveniently outside the auditorium.
The proposed addition would bring a state-of-the-art auditorium with over 380 seats and create a designated classroom space for music classes. It would allow Mendham Borough to expand performing arts education, and its related arts courses to include public speaking, performance, production, and technical areas.
It would also create a designated space for Promotion (graduation), which is currently held offsite at West Morris Regional High School, school assemblies and more. The auditorium would also be open for community use as well. The district plans to use a similar facilities use process to what is in place now, to ensure community members and organizations have access to this space.
