My Quilts

My quilts are a reflection of my journey through quilting and through life: stitching memories together with love.

My Brother's Quilt and Pillow (2021)

I pieced together My Brother's Quilt with shirts our dad used to wear. For the quilting I chose edge-to-edge scrolled hearts with one butterfly in the upper right square because Tony saw one as he was told that dad passed away.

Quilt top and embroidered label by Terry Breunig: alternating squares from six cotton men's dress shirts

Gabby's Pinwheel Crib Quilt (2020)

My granddaughter Gabby's Pinwheel Crib Quilt was my first time piecing using a pinwheels and I had no quilt pattern! My daughter,Ashley, showed me an image online and I used graph paper to figure it out. This was the first one I quilted on my new longarm quilting machine. I chose wreaths for the quilted blocks and feathered the border. I think it turned out almost as beautiful as she is!

Harper's Mermaid Quilt (2018)

I made Harper's Mermaid Quilt for my South Dakota raised granddaughter who I got to join in Virginia Beach, VA when she and her brother, Sterling, got to see the ocean for the very first time!

John's Halloween Quilt 2017

I pieced together John's Halloween Quilt for my grandson in 2017 using a glow-in-the-dark Happy Halloween skeleton panel. The fabric used for the back and binding are from Kimberbell. Instead of attaching a traditional label I embroidered "Happy Halloween 2017 Love, Nana" onto the back fabric using gold metallic thread.

Anna's Spring Quilt (2017)

I made this Spring quilt as the first of four different quilts during a year long quilt course.

After I cut the fabrics into strips I noticed I had beheaded one of the birds so I hand stitched it back on! I love the dimension it added. My niece, Anna, was visiting and loved it so much I gifted it to her.
