The Personalized Learning Cohort is a group of dedicated Melrose Public Schools teachers who have made the decision to adopt cutting edge personalized learning strategies into their daily teaching in order to foster engagement, create new opportunities, and ultimately reflect our fast evolving world through innovative and rigorous learning.

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (2020-2021)

  • Attend and participate in the biweekly after school meetings from 3:00-4:30 PM on Tuesdays beginning in October

  • Create at least 8 blog posts of personalized learning examples and 8 short videos, one a month. Support will be provided to create posts and videos including a specified format.

  • Create a final summary of personalized learning efforts for the final document.

  • Create associated materials for use in the classroom with students, for example, learning progressions, personalized learning plans/goal setting forms, menus/playlists, stations, project based learning, or other personalized learning materials. Support will be provided for the creation of these materials. Share all created materials.

  • Implement created materials in the classroom with students and revise as needed.

  • Share with colleagues materials at meetings.

  • Present learning in the cohort at a summer institute date in June.

  • Seek out support from leads of the cohort in any way to support implementation of create materials.
