Read Each Day
Keep these standards in mind as you are reading to your child. In class we often read the same book more than once.
The first time I introduce a book I read straight through for fluency and understanding. The second reading I would ask questions and see if the children can recall the sequence of events. After the second reading I might have children act out characters.
To extend on the reading ask your child to draw a picture of their favorite part of a book.
