Dear Dancers,

Thank you for auditioning for our Winter show! We are thrilled to see your hard work and dedication. As we move forward in the casting process, we want to remind you that casting decisions are based on several important factors:

Key Factors in Casting:

1. Availability for the Show: Your schedule must align with rehearsals and performances.

2. Mastery of Steps: Understanding the choreography is essential. If you haven't been taking a class to learn the required technique, it may affect your casting.

3. Execution of Technique: Consider the following:

   • Were you pointing your feet?

   • Did you dance FULL OUT?

   • Did you incorporate what we’ve learned in technique class?

4. Audition Performance:

   • Did you know the choreography?

   • How was your technique?

   • How did you express artistry and emotion?

5. Audition Etiquette:

   • How well did you enter the audition room?

   • Did you thank your "judges" at the end?

   • Did you present yourself with confidence and preparedness?

   • Were you dressed appropriately (hair in a bun and the correct attire)?

A Few Important Reminders:

• This Is Just One Audition! Remember, this is only the first opportunity of many! Take what you learned from this experience and apply it to future auditions. Embrace your role with grace, whether it’s what you expected or not. Every part is a privilege, and although this time you may not have received the role you desired, the future holds endless possibilities!

• Understudies: If you are cast as an understudy, know that you may still have the chance to dance! Your commitment to putting in the time, energy, and effort in practice is key to stepping in when needed.
