What is Judo?
Judo is a martial art and an Olympic sport derived from traditional Japanese Jujitsu. Judo training is rigorous and intense, rapidly improves strength and fitness, develops mental focus, awareness, and perseverance.
Melbourne University Judo Club
The Melbourne University Judo Club (MUJC) provides training and competition opportunities in Judo to all students (including non-Melbuni students), staff members, and friends of the university community.
The club offers two different training programs at off-campus locations :
Community Training Program, affiliated with the Victorian Amateur Judo Union
and
Professional Training Program, affiliated with Judo Victoria

The Community Training Program is provided by instructors affiliated with the Victorian Amateur Judo Union, the grassroot, community-based organisation of hobbyist Judo practitioners in Victoria.
The program offers low-cost Judo training, aiming at hobbyists and recreational Judo players, focusing on personal development at a casual pace.
The Professional Training Program is provided by instructors affiliated with Judo Victoria and Judo Australia, the official governing bodies of the sport of Judo in Victoria and Australia respectively, as recognised by the Australian Sports Commission.
The program offers training and nationally and internationally recognised Judo qualifications, access to the larger community of Judo practitioners, and a vast number of opportunities for state, national, and international competitions.
The program caters for all skills levels and training purposes from absolute beginners looking for a new recreational sport, to experienced, top performing athletes seeking pathways to international tournaments including up to the Olympics.
