Dr. Dale Lynch presented the 2022 Southeast District Superintendent of the Year award to Mr. Clint Baker during the Meigs County Board of Education's regular monthly June meeting. Lynch spoke of the recognition of this award as determined by colleagues within the district. He stated, “ I have the honor and privilege to present this award, and rarely do I present it to a School Director with over 30 years of experience in the same system”. Upon receiving the recognition, Mr. Baker gave thanks to God, his family, teachers, and staff as well as the school board for the support given. Mr. Baker will be in contention for the state level and possible national recognition later in the year.

Open Enrollment for Meigs South and Meigs North Elementary
The Meigs County Board of Education has an open enrollment policy for the two K-5 school within our county. Parents wishing to transfer to another elementary school may do so by notifying the principal during the open enrollment period. That window is from July 5th to August 7th 2022. Once accepted, the student shall provide his/her own transportation to and from school. The student must maintain satisfactory attendance, behavior, and effort to remain in the new school. Please review the list of available seats for each class and if you desire to make a transfer reach out to your school principal.

We would like to thank the Early Literacy committee for their hard work developing this plan for the students of Meigs County.
