Parent Teacher Conferences

We will have Parent Teacher Conferences on October 13th. Please remember to sign-up to meet your child's teacher, check your email for more information on how to do this. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, get some feedback about how they have started the year, and set some goals for the year. We will have Pandora Bookstore set up in the school with a wide range of English books on offer. Please do stop by and check out their range.

Grade 2A in the Library

These students just love reading! Ms Goldie and Ms Elif have been inspiring our little ones to celebrate books and the written word.

Teachers' Professional Development

Last week some of our primary teachers spent time exploring the benefits of a play based approach to learning. We had the chance to experience some approaches ourselves, which gave us a lot of fun. In the secondary, teachers were trained in 'active learning' in order to provide teachers with the tools to make their lessons more effective.

Photography at Skills Day

There is a cardinal rule to which educators collectively adhere: no matter what you do, the student must benefit. So, each student's perspective is important. During Skills Day, Grades 8-10 students learned the basics of photography and thereafter took wonderful photos highlightig their unique view of the world.

Secondary Sports Teams

It was nice to witness a large portion of the student body representing MEF IS football at Interntional Gateway Academy this week. Congratulations to all involved. Our teams won and lost some matches in this friendly fixture, which prepared the team well for the official tournaments coming up this month.

Games build coordination and are fun.

Team sports allow students to work together.

Sports Day

The competition during Sports Day was fierce on October 5th as students Kindergarten through Grade 12 passionately represented their House colors. Students participated in athleticism, team sports, and various other age-appropriate games. It was a great success. We are grateful for the contributions made by Simon, Victor, and Atakan from the Physical Education Department as well as by the teaching staff.
