Grade 3 students presented powerful learning from their first semester Units of Inquiry. Students in 3B presented a play that told the story of Ruby Bridges, and the fight for a black child to attend her choice of school in America. 3B students danced to a song they had learned. The MFL department shared books some students had written in their French or Spanish classes. Learner profile certificates were also presented.
United Nations Home Language Day on 21 February was recognised this week in a variety of ways.
In recognition of United Nations Home Language Day on 21 February, students in Grades 3 and 4 presented an Art Exhibition to represent and celebrate their home language.
Grade 5 and Middle School had a great time on the Kartalkaya ski trip last week. A total of 45 students hit the slopes with over 20 students skiing for the 1st time. It was great to see so many of our students learn and develop new skills as well as watch them discover new friends.
Six of our students traveled to Paris over the weekend to participate in the MEP Conference as the Turkish delegation. They are currently in Strasbourg finding solutions to issues that affect Europe and the world at this prestigious event.
Student Council delivered cookies this week in celebration of Valentine's Day. Students were surprised and excited to receive a cookie from a friend!
7B Students had a chance to organize a fundraiser to help animals both on and off campus. They helped to raise awareness of animal rights issues in the school and the community.
As part of the MEF Exchange Project, some Grade 7 students visited the national school last Wednesday. They visited Grade 7 classes during 3rd, 4th and 5th periods. Afterwards, they had lunch together in the national school cafeteria, had a fun reflection about their school visits, and made some plans to visit each other's houses.
Grade 10 Students learned their options in the IB Diploma Programme. Over the following days, they will individually meet with the Curriculum Coordinators to complete their subject registrations for grades 11 and 12.
