Opinion Writing! 

We highlighted the different parts of an opinion piece. Does it have a topic (green), 3 reasons(orange),explanations (yellow) and a ending (red/pink).

Math Centers!

We were playing doubles dash! We had to add numbers like 4+4=, 5+5=, we also did playdough fact fluency with a partner and slate equations.

Reading Centers!

Each day we have small group instruction. While Mrs. Graham is teaching, we work through various centers: 

1. Fluency center: We read the passage aloud together, then go back to our seats and use the whisper phones to reread it. 

2. Word work: This week we're cutting pictures, saying their name and sorting them by long and short vowels

3. Reading comprehension: We read a passage, then answer questions to see how well we understood the story

4. Phonics: We practice writing words with our phonics pattern of the week. This week, it is CVC words like mud, sit, and cat. 

Some centers are independent at our seats and some centers are partner or group work! We've been working really hard at having a nice quiet partner/group work voice so our friends can learn while Mrs. Graham is teaching!
