Hello and welcome to third grade!

My name is Amanda Davis and I'm one of the third grade teachers at the Burke-Memorial School. I grew up in Franklin and currently live in Norfolk with my husband, Mike! He is a police officer. I also have a 20 month old son named Timothy! You will hear all about him this year. I'm also expecting another baby boy in December of 2024.

I like to do lots of things outside of school! I love arts and crafts. I also enjoy going to the movies, photography, reading and traveling. My favorite place I've traveled to is Italy. Also, you will soon learn that I have a HUGE love for Panda Bears and Disney!

My background & teaching experience...

This will be my 10th year teaching and my 8th year at Memorial School. Prior to joining the Medway community, I attended Stonehill College and received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and American Studies. While at Stonehill College I completed several student teaching opportunities in a variety of grades and communities. I student taught 1st, 2nd and 5th grade in Brockton, MA and then went on to complete my full-time practicum in 2nd grade in Canton, MA. Shortly after graduating from Stonehill, I attended Lesley University where I received my Masters Degree in Literacy for K-8 Classroom Teachers, while simultaneously working as a 1st grade paraprofessional in Brookline, MA. From there I taught both 3rd and 2nd grade in Brookline. I then decided to leave Brookline, as I wanted to plant my roots in a more suburban area where I grew up and hoped to eventually raise a family. Teaching 3rd grade in Medway is my home and I couldn't be happier!

I love third grade, as it is a very exciting year to teach and watch students grow. Students are finally beginning to shift from "learning to read" to "reading to learn" and BOY do we learn a LOT! I cannot wait to meet my new group of students and look forward to a fantastic year of learning, growing and thriving together!

Please feel free to contact me by email anytime at adavis@medwayschools.org. I will try to respond to your email within 24 hours, if not sooner. However, if it is an emergency or you have any last minute changes with daily routine etc., please contact the school directly as I may not be able to check my email frequently throughout the day while I am teaching.

All my best,

Mrs. Davis
