I will be in the Learning Center at Open House, Tuesday, September 24, 2018. Please feel free to stop by Room 7 to say hello and see our room!
We are currently learning about consonant blends at the beginning and end of words, r controlled vowels and closed syllables. A closed syllable ends in a consonant and only has one vowel. The vowel in a closed syllable is short. It is important for you child to recognize a closed syllable because when the vowel is closed at the end of a word, the vowel sound is short, as in the word "math" or "cat".
As always, each student has his or her own goals that they are working on and they are all working very hard!
