Elementary Digital Platforms

The following are digital platforms that are currently used in our district at the elementary Level. This section can serve as a resource to quickly access the platforms by clicking the images, which are linked directly to the platforms.

iReady is an adaptive program that offers online learning for math and reading.

Raz- Kids is a reading app the gives students access to more than 400 leveled books with embedded quizzes.

Mystery Science is an online science resource, with videos, discussion questions, and hands-on activities. Each lesson starts with a question to spark students’ curiosity. Be on the lookout for lessons from teachers that will have the links!

Seesaw

Teachers use Seesaw to communicate with families and share student work. Students can document their learning through writing, audio, video or digital annotations. Students can create portfolios of their learning. Teachers using this would share individual links.

This is a digital library for students that offers popular ebooks and videos. Teachers have set up access for students and will have individual class codes. Parents and children will use this page to log in. Tea

General Interest

  • Wonderopolis- Highly engaging website for students. A question of the day blog that provides answers to frequently asked student questions. Includes texts with a read-to-me function and a paired video.

  • PBSKids.org- Educational games and videos from PBSKids shows.

Science

National Geographic for Kids-This is an online version of the magazine. It includes videos, games, and additional information for students to explore.

Explore.org- a collection of live action cameras, mostly of animals and nature.

How stuff works - Games, quizzes, and videos that introduce and inform on topics like culture, science, technology and more.

ELA/Reading

  • ABCYA- Free educational children computer games and activities for elementary students to learn on the web.

  • Storyline Online - listen to stories being read online!

  • Pioneer Valley Books - Literacy Footprints Digital Reader

Math

  • Funbrain - On this math site for kids, students can enjoy playing a variety of games that reinforce key mathematical concepts and engage young learners. Educational videos are also included, and there’s a special “Playground” with games suited to pre-K and kindergarten students

  • Hooda Math - Logic and reasoning, math fact practice and more make up the free educational games at Hooda Math. There are quite a few games that call for higher order thinking and ask students to problem solve to complete the activities.

Computer Science

  • Scratch- With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations.

  • Tynker- This provides an engaging introduction to programming.
