Welcome to 8th Grade ELA!

Throughout the year, you will develop your reading, writing, thinking, and speaking skills as you explore the elements of literature through various short stories, novels, non-fiction, drama, and poetry. You will be expected to interact with the literature in a variety of ways.

You will also be engaged in developing your writing abilities as you work through the writing process to produce various pieces such as personal narratives, descriptive essays, responses to literature, and a research paper. You will be expected to demonstrate command of writing conventions and grammar in your writing.
