MIF 2025

MIF is an annual event organised by the NUS Medical Society for Students of YLLSoM as well as any interested Healthcare professionals. Our economies of scale and direct liasing with the product vendors allows us to offer student prices, as well as unique freebies (eg. stethoscope engraving, free pen torches) which translate to additional cost savings for students.

Which medical instruments do I need to buy for clinical years?

Every year, we prepare a set of slides compiled by many batches of seniors that cover the essential medical instruments that every student needs for clinical rotations and ultimately the MBBS examination. This includes a stethoscope, pen torches, tendon tappers (adult & paeds) and tuning forks (512Hz and 128Hz). 

How do I decide which brand and models to purchase?

See what your seniors have to say here! You can also join us for the live MIF on Monday, 18 Aug, 9am-4pm at NUS Medical Science Library  Level 1 to see and try out the products for yourself. Additionally, you can search for images and reviews online using the product names provided in our catalogues. 

Who is allowed to buy instruments from MIF?
Anyone can purchase these equipments as long as we have your contact details! 

Ordering & Payment

How do I place an order?

All orders must be  placed via our official Google Form from the 18th of August (Monday) to the 22nd of August (Friday). If you are joining us at the live MIF,  do remember to take note of the items you wish to purchase, so that it will be easier to fill up the Google Form. 

How do I make payment?
Payment will be collected through your House Representatives after your order is confirmed.  For alumni, we will contact you separately for payment matters.

Collection

When and how do I collect my order?

Orders will be delivered in bulk to NUS Medicine. You will be informed by your House Representatives once your items have arrived, and collection will be arranged through them. Please note that delivery vary - for customised items such as engraved stethoscopes, the expected wait time is approximately 4-6 months.

Warranty

Is there a warranty?

Yes - warranty terms vary by product and will be listed in the catalogue. Check the remarks for free gifts and respective item warranty

Can I return or exchange items?

Only if there is a manufacturer defect which will be covered by the warranty. No returns for change of mind.
