Art at Home
Ideas and resources for at-home projects
Art Resources:
Art at home can usually be done with things you already have! That said, the "basics" can add up. Some amazing supplies are available at Dollar Tree and Five Below. Walmart has plenty of fun kits available as well as a wider range of materials. Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, and Michael's all tend to have half off of a single item coupons and great online/pickup deals (this is how I get my personal paint sets!). Amazon is great to find all your odd supplies and Blick is where my classroom supplies are from because they have great bulk order discounts!
Please feel free to reach out if your student is interested in anything, I'm happy to help find what they're looking for!

Paper Mache
This medium is adaptable to any situation, from masks in kindergarten to life size sculptures. We used it in each grade to make mud monsters, birds, Yoyoi Kusama Pumpkins, and Scarecrows.
Paste can be bought or made, both work great! Elmer's has a paste that makes about a gallon per box, with each box being about $4. Otherwise, flour and water can be mixed in equal amounts to use.
The link above has amazing ideas, projects, and recipes for paper clay (which was used in the bird project).
Air Dry Clay
We used air dry clay for art club and mud monster eyes this year, here are some other ideas and resources for an at home version.
