Library Rules and Procedures

MHS Library General Rules & Procedures:   

• No cell phones!

• Must have a pass or be part of a class to visit the library during the school day

• Please sign-in and sign-out upon entering and exiting the library- make sure to put your first and last name!

• Be productive when using the library!

• Please check-out and return books at the main counter (use the Book Drop)

• Please return materials in a timely matter & respond to overdue notices

• Obey all school rules and respect all visitors in the library when visiting

 MHS Library Book Borrowing Procedures:  

• You can check-out books, Chromebooks, chargers (in the library only) at the Main Desk 

• You may borrow three books for two weeks at a time; Chromebooks can be borrowed for one day at a time & must be returned by 3:00pm 

• You may renew an item by bringing it to the main counter

• No additional items may be borrowed until overdue items are returned

• Please take care of library materials, you will be held responsible for the cost of lost or damaged items

MHS Library Computer Information:     

• You must have a user name and password (DO NOT SHARE!)

• We can reset your password if needed

• If you need to login to the Student Portal, we can assist you with your user name and password

• Destiny Discover online is where you locate books & is located under Medina CSD Bookmarks

• PLEASE ask permission before printing any colored documents in the library

• You are expected to adhere to the MCSD acceptable use policy at all times

Chromebook Policy:

• All students are responsible for charging their own chromebook

• All students are required to bring their assigned chromebook to school each day

• Failure to charge or bring your chromebook is equivalent to being unprepared for class

• If you happen to forget your chromebook or it is not charged, you may borrow one from the library for the day

• If there is something wrong with your chromebook or charger, please see Mrs. O'Toole or Mrs. Heschke in the library

• If you lose your charger, there is a $20 replacement fee

• If you lose your chromebook, there is a $100 replacement fee
