Alphabet/Letters

We sing many alphabet songs, and the students love them! We sing them during activities, letter writing games, and to reinforce initial letter sounds, and important skills for kindergarten! In addition, you can play alphabet games at home! Consider the following ideas and free print-out games:

  • What's in the Box Game? (Place objects from home in a box or mystery bag, and have your child take them out one by one, name the object, identify the initial letter sound of the word, and state what letter it starts with. To make it more difficult, you can have your child identify the ending sound instead!)
  • Alliteration Hunt! (Hunt for things in your house beginning with a particular letter sound!)
  • Alphabet Soup Meal! (While eating alphabet soup, have your child identify the letters, and think of a word that starts with the letter sound!)
  • Alphabet Activity/Game Print Outs (movement abc cards, clothespin abc clips sheets, and upper/lowercase letter match game are below):
