Short-term individual counseling is available to students to assist with their personal/social and academic needs. Students may be referred for individual support by teachers, administrators, parents, or by self-referral. Counseling is available to all students, and confidentiality is a privilege that students receive when scheduled for individual counseling.
Counseling groups are formed when the need arises, which can be determined by myself, teachers, parents, or students. Groups typically consist of 4-6 students who meet for 6-8 sessions. Before beginning a group, parent permission is obtained, and the group goals are created. Topics for groups vary greatly based on the needs of the students.
Classroom guidance lessons are delivered to students throughout the school year. The lessons typically correspond to our core values and emphasize the importance of SEL.
