Late Work Policy

Students are given 100 points for a Responsibility Grade at the beginning of each quarter for every class. Each time the student fails to complete an assignment on time, 10 points are deducted. No points are deducted from the actual assignment.

For example:

At the end of the quarter, Jane had two late (and/or missing) assignments in social studies; she earned 80 out of 100 points for her final Responsibility Grade in social studies.

At the end of the quarter, Jane turned in all her assignments on time in language arts; she earned 100 out of 100 points for her final Responsibility Grade in language arts.

Students are encouraged to complete their missing work ASAP!

Late Work Citations

When a student fails to complete an assignment, they will receive a late work citation and have to stay in for recess. After five citations, a phone call home is made, and students are required to stay in for restricted recess for one week. After 10 citations, students lose recess for the remainder of the quarter.
