Film 101! Welcome to a course that will cover a variety of film making techniques and theory. As we learn the lingo we will also build our own films and be watching films together to become in depth film critics.

Why do we need to learn about film and video?
Film, TV and Online Video dominate our American world. In general every citizen is exposed to or affected by film art form to one degree or another. Since the 1950’s the television has become a staple in most homes to the point many of us have multiple screens within our homes. Also from the beginning of the 20th century the advent of the motion picture has also exploded from a novel experiment to an enormous industry. We are learning about film and video to better understand the moving images that surround us and messages that are expressed within them.
Anyone with smartphone can capture video. Filming is an invaluable skill in 21st century tech.
