Mrs. Stockwell's 7th Grade Science

Welcome to 7th grade Science!  This year, we will learn about Ecosystems, Cells, Genetics, and the Human Body (See tabs at the top).  Along the way, we'll be conducting experiments and investigations to dig more into these topics and learn about them using the scientific method.

A little about me...I'm originally from Medford.  After high school, I graduated from UW-Green Bay with degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Secondary Education.  I earned my Master's degree in Education from Columbia College in MO.  My husband, Ryan, and I lived in Ohio, Missouri, Montana, and Minnesota before landing back in Medford.   We have 3 sons: Owen, Rylan, and Graysen.

What you really need to know to be successful in this class:

What do my grades mean?

A: My work shows that I fully understand this topic and I can explain it with a lot of detail

B: My work shows that I mostly understand this topic (maybe a few small errors) and I can explain it with SOME details.

C: My work shows that I understand the basics of this topic

D/F: I haven't shown that I understand this topic yet.

Q: How do I know what grade will I get on my work?

A: Is your work correct and how much detail did you add when explaining yourself? Remember these example answers to the question "What's for lunch today?"  and apply that to your Science work.

D/F answer: food

C answer: hamburgers and fries (just enough to answer it)

B answer: hamburgers or pizza, fries and milk (correct with some detail)

A answer: hamburgers or pizza, fries, fruit, and salad, your choice of chocolate or white milk...OR you can bring your own lunch too (correct with a good amount of detail)
