Bookshare makes reading easier. People with dyslexia, blindness, cerebral palsy, and other reading barriers can customize their experience to suit their learning style and find virtually any book they need for school, work, or the joy of reading.
Bookshare® is FREE for qualified U.S. students of any age and schools through an award from OSEP (Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education).
- Who Qualifies? In order for you to become a Bookshare® member, an expert must confirm that you have a print disability that severely inhibits or prevents you from reading traditional print materials. Anyone in the world with a qualifying print disability may join Bookshare.
- Medford Public Schools has an organization account to enroll qualifying students so they can then access textbooks and assigned books. Students may choose to link an individual account to the organization account to allow for private browsing and selection of books as well.
- How Does It Work?
- Contact your child's special education teacher or 504 coordinator to learn if he/she qualifies.
