Recorder Concert info:

May 18th, 7:00 pm recorder concert in the MU at Mountain View.

Recorders are the main focus of Fourth Grade.

Here are some play along lessons on recorder.

Remember to:

Cover the holes COMPLETELY with your FLAT fingers.

Blow softly or you will squeak.

Use your LEFT HAND on top for "B", "A" and "G".

Use your tongue to play rhythms by saying things like "ta, ta, tate, ta" while you are blowing.

Now we add the Note "E". Add two fingers with the Right Hand to make 5 fingers in a row for "E".

Now we add the note "F". Cover holes 4 and 6 plus the top three to make an F. Also we add high "C". Play with just the 2nd hole and thumb covered.

Now we add High "D". Make a "C" and take your thumb off the back hole.

Here are some songs from YouTube. Most of you have "Baroque" fingering. Your recorder may have either a small "B" or "G" near the back hole. "B" is for Baroque, and "G" is for German. Most recorders are baroque but some are German.
