Good afternoon, Silverwood families! Happy Friday, August 7th!
Here’s what our office has been preparing for you:
Going home in today’s USPS mail is a set of instructions regarding setting up a HomeLink account and Walk-Through. Please be sure you contact our office if you do not receive these documents by Wednesday, August 12th, as this may mean we need to verify the residence address we have on file for your family.
Some of you may be familiar with HomeLink already, especially if you have children in middle or high school. For those of you who are not familiar with HomeLink, creating an account will provide you access to state testing reports and the ability to update your child’s information, which is called “Data Confirmation.” At the middle school and high school levels, you’ll then be able to see grades, assignments, and progress in addition to this basic information. The same account will be in existence as long as your child is in Mt. Diablo Unified School District. So be sure to keep a record of your log-in username and password.
Please contact us if you encounter any problems setting up your account.
In preparation for next week, here’s what to expect:
Teacher/classroom assignments will be sent out electronically (via phone and email) early in the week!
A schedule will be created for picking up Chromebooks and classroom materials.
Drop-off boxes will be available for you to bring in your required paperwork after you complete the HomeLink data confirmation process. (August 12th and 13th)
Teachers will begin reaching out to their students/families with instructions for the first day of school.
Please enjoy your weekend! We’ll be in touch again very soon!

Good Tuesday afternoon, Skyhawks! It is August 4th!
As promised, we’ve got some more information for you for the coming school year!
We have attached to the email version of this message, and also added to the Silverwood website under “News” the following items:
Instructions to opt-in to receive text messages from our School Messenger system. If you intend to utilize this free service, please opt in by Friday, August 14th, 5 pm. There is no obligation; this is simply an additional option for receiving communication. (English instructions; Spanish instructions)

Good afternoon, Silverwood Families!
It is Monday, August 3rd, and Silverwood’s office staff is back to work!
Please note that the office is still closed to the public due to health and safety guidelines. If you require an appointment to complete enrollment or change your address, please call or email the office.
We will be sending much more information to you in the coming days. Following are 3 important bullet points:
Silverwood will be participating in 100% distance learning – this means online classrooms only and no students attending in person. We do not know how long this will be our educational model, and we’ll continue to update our families as we receive instruction from our Superintendent. We will advise our families regarding borrowing technology as soon as we have that plan in place.
The first day of instruction has been changed to Monday, August 17th, 2020.
It is with great pleasure we welcome our new Principal, Keya Lipscomb-Nesbeth! An introduction will go out to families later this week!
Please be on the lookout for lengthier messages from Silverwood! We hope you are all staying well and ready to dive in to learning this year!
