Kindergarten Weekly News

Dear Families,

What a busy week we have had here in Kindergarten!

In Fundations, we are learning the sounds for letters t, b and f; we are also learning how to properly form those letters. In Writing Workshop, we have named ourselves “Cool Kindergarten Writers!” We have learned that we can consult with our classmates to think about ways we can add to our writing pieces. In Reading Workshop, we are exploring non-fiction books. We are discovering the joys of both private reading as well as reading with a partner. In math, we have done lots of sorting and classifying activities, as well as counting and subitizing. The class played their first math games this week and it was a success! We also found time to play, sing songs together and have movement breaks. Ask them about the freeze dance song. :)

Today was a special day as we got to gather with our third grade buddies for the first time.

Monday- Abbie, Braydin, Cadillac

Tuesday- Gemma, Gracie, Harold

Wednesday- Iris, Kenleigh, Landen,

Thursday- Madaline, Natalie, Oliver,

Friday- Stella, Scarlett

Important dates:

School picture order forms went home last week. Picture day is Thursday, September 23rd. Friday, September 24th is an early release day. Book orders are due by Monday, September 20th.
