College Confidential Features both professionally written and student-written reviews of 3000+ colleges and even gives you an idea of your chance to get in.
Payscale's College Value Report Looks at the real value of a college education rather than the reputation or athletic programs. I recommend this site to every student or parent trying to look for other schools that provide excellent results.

College Scorecard A site that gives you accurate and verified information on college costs, retention, and other key information. Organized as a response to protect students from overwhelming debt and predatory lenders and exploitation.
Niche College Reviews by Students-The college version of Yelp!, this site is young but picking up feedback and gathering data rapidly. This is a great site to use double-checking an impression that you might have picked up while visiting a school or "heard online".
College Consultants- As the admissions process for colleges and universities becomes more competitive, and disposable income rises for some, the Profession of a College Consultant or Coach is on the rise across the United States. Private Coaches or Consultants can provide time and attention beyond those of some overworked Public School Counselors, and they sometimes bring personal experience in the admissions field to their clients. These services can be very expensive, and experiences and outcomes vary significantly by Consultant or Coach. Here are a couple of articles that you might want to read before deciding to contract with a Consultant or while selecting a consultant.
