Hello Students and Families,

Welcome to Third Grade! I am so looking forward to being your teacher for the upcoming school year. I hope you are ready and excited for what is going to be a great year! Our classroom is located in the lower level of the Conners Building, the 4th classroom on the right as you go down the stairs. 

The first day of school is Thursday, August 28th. Drop off is 8:00-8:15 and the students go directly to morning recess when they arrive, located on the Back Boardwalk.

Please send a note with your child or email me directly the first day of school what your child’s after-school plans are so we can help get them home safely!  You can reach me at allyson.bender@mdirss.org. 

For the first day, you will only need to bring a pencil box, pencils, and any personal coloring supplies. It would be helpful if your students have their own dry erase markers. Optional personal supplies that you may like to bring in (but are not required): a ruler, a deck of cards (for math games during the school year), a personal pencil sharpener, and erasers.  

We will be using iPads in Grade 3, so please have your student bring a personal pair of wired headphones. They will also need to bring a water bottle every day. We will be spending time outdoors at the beginning of the year so please dress your child comfortably, but accordingly depending on weather. 

We would like to invite you to a MEET & GREET on Wednesday, Aug. 27th from 2-3 to meet the third grade teachers and see our classroom space before the first day of school! We hope to see you there.
