MARCH INTO READING
At Conners Emerson, we love books. I mean, we really love books. And what better way to show it than dedicating a whole month to reading!!! We will be doing some activities in our classrooms, as a whole school, and even have a few things for students to take home if they would like. We can't wait to get the fun started!!!
Creative Reading Spaces
If you have a picture of your child reading in a creative reading space, you can email to hwebster@mdirss.org or text to 207-518-3329

Buddy Readers Rock!
Older students will read with younger students (or is it the other way around???) during the week of March 20-24th.
Bookmarks for Birch Bay
We know that a love for reading lasts a lifetime. Students will design bookmarks to share with our neighbors at Birch Bay. If you need extra bookmarks, Miss Taylor has you covered!!!
Please turn in your bookmarks to Miss Taylor by March 31st.
K-8 Drop Everything and Read
for 30 minutes, every student in our school dropped everything and read together. The school has never been so quiet!!!
Guest Readers Galore
We are looking for some literary lovers to come and read to each of our classrooms. It could be a picture book or a poem or even a chapter from your favorite book. Please reach out to your classroom's teacher or to Miss Taylor to arrange a visit during the week of March 20-24th.
Book Lover's BINGO
Looking to add a few points to your classroom's total? Well, how about a little BINGO!!!
(You can download one of our BINGO boards, get one from Miss Taylor or make one of your own....)
BINGO boards can be turned into Miss Taylor by Friday, March 24th.
Hmm... not quite enough reading for you? You need a few more activities?
Okay, how about a few of these:
Record a book review (at least 30 sec.) and text to Mrs. Webster (207-518-3329).
Create a wordfind with 10-15 words or character names from your favorite book.
Send a picture (email or text) of you reading in your favorite spot. Or maybe even reading in a very unusual spot (this is not a dare... exercise sound judgement...) And did I mention there could be extra points for creativity???
Recreate a scene from a book. (could be legos, could be teddy bears, could enlist your 2nd cousin
