For very World Cup tournament France asks a popular group to write an official theme song for that year. They write their own song but it does have to contain the refrain: Allez les Bleus or Go Blues. (Les Bleus is the nickname for Team France.)

A Night at the Library
Local stuffed animals were invited to spend a night at the library. Many Conners-Emerson students' stuffies were there. Events included storytime with our own Maine Black Bear, Marcel. He read a book in French, Disco et Moi , which was a big hit. Later they had snacks and then snuggled under the blankets for lights out.

This July the Summer Olympics will be in Paris, France. Their mascots called Les Phryges (sounds like "freejz"). They are old fashioned "Liberty" hats.

The Grade 4 and Grade 8 classes were very excited to find out which artist won Manie Musicale 2024! It was a group called Magic Système from Côte d'Ivoire with their African Cup welcome song.

Grade 2 students each made a digital ceinture-flêchée for "le Carnaval à Conners". It is a traditional sash worn on winter coats. The real Québec Carnaval starts January 25 and goes to February 11, 2024.
