During the week of October 24, students celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, by wearing cultural attire and by decorating their doors. As can be seen below, several students wore traditional Indian attire in celebration of this event, such as kurtas, lehengas, veshtis, saris, and many more. At the end of the week, each homeroom, which had previously selected a certain part of India, decorated their doors with general symbols of Diwali and the specific way it is celebrated in different cultural spheres. Decorations were also put up around the school and were made out of rangoli, a traditional colored sand that Hindus use during festivals to adorn their houses and welcome prosperity and renewal.

To celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, our Culture and Diversity Club decorated the school with beautiful rangoli designs. Using vibrant colors and intricate patterns, we brought this traditional Indian art form to life, symbolizing joy and prosperity. This endeavor brightened our school and helped share the significance of Diwali, promoting cultural appreciation and inclusion.
The holiday season is a time for unity and celebration and Culture and Diversity along with the Heart and Mind Club spread the joy throughout our school! We decorated with glowing lights, festive and colorful decorations, and a beautifully decorated tree. To celebrate Hanukkah, we displayed a menorah and hung up meaningful decorations. From stockings and garlands to symbols of winter celebrations from around the world, the decorations reflected various holiday traditions and brought everyone together in the holiday spirit.
To celebrate Lunar New Year, the Culture and Diversity Club decorated the school with festive decorations and shared traditions! We made and hung red lanterns, symbolizing good fortune and happiness, and created a vibrant banner. To share the spirit of the holiday, we also put together little red envelopes filled with candy, representing prosperity and good luck for the year ahead. Through these decorations, we celebrated Lunar New Year and shared its meaning and traditions.
