Mariposa County Food Resources

We understand that many families in our community experience food insecurity at different times throughout the year, especially during the summer months when school meals are not available. Every family deserves access to healthy, nourishing food.

To support you, we’ve compiled a list of local food resources available throughout Mariposa County, including options in the North County areas of Greeley Hill, Coulterville, and Lake Don Pedro. These resources come from a variety of organizations, including faith-based groups, nonprofit agencies, and county and state programs like CalFresh and Project Food Box.

Our goal is to ensure that all families feel empowered to use the resources available to them without fear of judgment. Whether you’re facing a temporary hardship or ongoing challenges, you are not alone—and help is here.

Project Food Box

California residents with Medi-Cal can qualify for a weekly box of fresh produce tailored to support specific medical needs. Medi-Cal members with qualifying health conditions can receive nutritious food boxes delivered to their door in Fresno, Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, Riverside, San Benito, San Bernardino, and Santa Cruz Counties. Can be delivered to alternate addresses if the client does not have a physical address.

Emergency food once a month on a drop-in basis. Walk-in service with application process. Food for couch-surfing teens. No income requirement. Application

Provide Food Assistance for Contribution – $58 a year (goes from July 1 thru June 30), seniors 55+ and low income receive groceries. 

Bags are provided on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 9AM-11AM.

CalFresh Healthy Living, Mariposa Public Health provides $5 to youth under 18 yrs to use for fresh produce at the Mariposa Farmers Market.

Market Match–Mariposa Certified Farmers’ Market-ONLY CERTAIN TIMES OF YEAR

Swipe your EBT/SNAP or SunBucks card at the market booth to get wooden tokens for eligible items—and up to $15 in free Market Match tokens for fresh fruits and vegetables. Tokens never expire and can be used at any eligible booth.

Mariposa Farmers Market 6th St. and Stroming Rd. Mariposa

Salvation Army Voucher Program.  $50-$100 vouchers, can be used for food, gas, propane tanks. Call Mark (559-458-5505) to see if you qualify.  Can be used once every 3 months.

Two monthly food giveaways in Lake Don Pedro and one in Coulterville every month. Minor paperwork required to ensure people meet the income qualifications.

Coulterville: first Friday of every month from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the OLD school on Broadway.
