Welcome Back to School

We are all excited about the new school year and hope everyone has a successful school year.

CES Safety Reminders

• Car riders are to be dropped off and picked up at the side of the school building on Letory Road both in the morning and in the afternoon.

• Cars dropping off students need to observe and respect the traffic flow lines painted on the school’s parking lot.

• Only buses are allowed to drop off students at the front of the school building from 7:30 - 8:30 in the morning and from 2:45 - 4:00 in the afternoon. (The lanes in front of the building will be blocked off during these times.)

• If a student needs to be picked up between 2:55 and 3:30 they must be picked up through the car rider lines on the side of the building adjacent to Letory Road.

• If a student needs to be picked up between the hours of 8:30 and 2:45 they can be picked up through the office at the front of the building.

• Parents are welcome to walk their students to the classroom between 8:00 - 8:25. This is for drop off purposes only. This time should not be used to conference with the classroom teacher since teachers are responsible for their students from 8:00 - 3:30. If a parent needs to meet with a teacher, then he/she needs to set up a time to meet with the teacher when students are not in the classroom.

• The instruction day starts at 8:30. If a student(s) is dropped off after 8:30, the student must sign in at the office, receive a tardy note, and walk to the classroom on his/her own. Students cannot be walked to class after 8:25 (with the exception of pre-school students).

• Students are expected to wear athletic shoes on the day they have PE class.

• Older siblings cannot ride the school bus from the middle school/high school to be picked up as a car rider at Central Elementary.
