For this practice project, I edited a 40-minute interview with an organic farmer into a 5-minute story about the threat of oil and gas development on the farming community in Hotchkiss, Colorado. In the interview, Waltermire discusses what makes his small farm thrive and the threats that industrial development place on his survival. I used Adobe Audition to edit this interview. The tools I used most were the move tool and the razor blade tool, which allowed me to cut out and move or remove parts of the interview. I also added in creative commons music from purpleplanet.com, and learned how to fade audio in and out. This podcast falls into the category of "interview style" because it is the audio from an interview between Mark Waltermire and Boyd Boland. This story is part of a series of interviews with six different stakeholders in the small towns of Paonia and Hotchkiss, Colorado.
