Homework Policy

This year for homework, students will be completing take-home pages from our Bridges and CKLA curricula.

Students will receive a Bridges "Home Connections" (volume 1) book at the beginning of the year. Each week, there will be 1-2 pages assigned from that book to complete. These pages will correspond to what we have learned in class that week. There will also be a volume 2 that will come home around mid-year.

Similarly, students will receive a packet of CKLA Skills practice pages once per unit (approximately monthly). There will be a few pages a week to complete that also correspond to our in-class learning. These also will include some information for you on what we are learning in class.

CKLA Knowledge will just have a few pages per unit that will be sent home. These pages will include information on what we are studying for that unit and some suggested activities for you to help reinforce our learning.

We ask that you also read with your child nightly to reinforce early literacy skills.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the workbooks these pages come from, it is not possible for families to receive multiple copies of the homework, although you can find images for reference on this site. We recommend keeping the homework pages in your child's backpack or take-home folder so that they are always with them!

*Please do not work ahead of the assigned pages, as they relate directly to what we are learning in class.
