Welcome to Reading Intervention! As the year goes on I will upload activities and ideas that you can do with your kiddos at home to support them in reading. The newsletters for each month have different activities geared towards that grade. Feel free to check them out:-)
About me
Hi! My name is Jen Smith. I have been a teacher for the last 22 years. 21 of those years in the classroom and last year as a K-5 reading interventionist. I love to teach reading and have a passion to help all students learn to read and love it.
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, Kevin, and I have two boys named Mason and Collin. Mason is a freshman at Montrose High School. Collin is is a 7th grader at Columbine Middle School. We also have three dogs, Chase, Kobe and Beau. We enjoy doing activities outside, watching movies, watching sports, and traveling, especially to Lake Powell.
I graduated from Adams State University with a degree in Elementary Education and I have a master’s degree from Mesa State University in ESOL (English to Speakers of other Languages). I have taken many classes through the years to learn new ways to teach and help students with reading.
I can’t wait for an awesome year!
