Family, celebrate Juneteenth this year with BigFuture’s Real Talk! Did you know Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) was when slavery officially ended for ALL Black people in the US? Tap in during this special #RealTalkTuesday to discover the rich history of this holiday and how it relates to the invaluable educational opportunities offered by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). We’re bringing you an all-star panel featuring an HBCU administrator and Black college students (who always keep it real) and sharing how to compare colleges to find the best HBCU using BigFuture’s free resources.

ELITE Leadership Academy for Young Future Latina Leaders

The ELITE Leadership Academy is a week-long summer program hosted this year at George Mason University. Our program is designed to empower young future Latina leaders currently in 9th-12th grade through hands-on learning experiences in leadership and personal branding. This unique program will run from July 15 to July 20, 2024 and includes a series of interactive sessions:

July 15: Leadership Assessment & Dynamics

July 16: N'etiquette & Personal Branding

July 17: LinkedIn & Resumes

July 18: Personal Statements 101: Sharing Your Story

July 19: Portfolio Presentations

July 20: ELITE Academy Graduation Ceremony

Sessions will be held in person at George Mason University's Arlington Campus from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST each day. This invaluable program is offered FREE to the participants, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their opportunity for growth.

A total of 30 high school students from the DC, MD, and VA area to join this year's cohort. To apply, students must complete the 2024 ELITE Leadership Academy application by Friday, June 14, 2024.  Click here to see the flyer
