Are you confused or struggling with the Common Task essays? If so, you may just need to learn a few simple skills that will change the way you view and approach these and other five-paragraph essays. Whether you struggle with writing an interesting introductory paragraph, an effective claim (or thesis) statement, body paragraphs (including finding and integrating quotes), or a conclusion, this workshop is for you. In fact, the skills are so simple, you can use them in any English class.
Get a head start on your college application essay THIS summer. You will learn strategies on how to write a sparkling essay that sets you apart from the crowd. Many Wheaton students have taken advantage of this workshop and produced unique and stellar essays that have helped them with admissions, and earning scholarship money, to a variety of colleges and universities. *Available only to students registered with CollegeTracks* We will be covering topics like: Setting Up For Success (Brag Sheet, Resume, Career Exploration), College Search & Developing Your List, Financial Aid, Common App & Essay Writing. Following workshop students will begin one on one advising with our team. Advising sessions include creating a personalized to-do list, reviewing your college list and making recommendations, advising on your financial aid options, and discussing your questions.

Transitions to High School: A program that focuses on helping incoming students make an efficient transition toward high school. This program will focus on effective social skills (peer and student interaction), strategies , and requirements (credits) necessary to attaining optimal success in their four years in high school.
